Junior Ranger Programs   Available for Download

Nearly every National Park site has a Junior Ranger Program for kids of all ages.  Pick up a booklet at the Visitor Center, complete the age-appropriate activities on your visit, and return to be sworn in as one of the park's Junior Rangers.  How cool and educational is this?!

Where will you travel to today? Digital Downloads

Over 100 National Park sites give visitors the option to download digital copies of their Junior Ranger program guides (see below). These can be started at home, in preparation for upcoming on-site visits.  Several parks also allow visitors to complete the booklet activities entirely at home (or online).  Upon completion, booklets are mailed or emailed to the corresponding park for review.  Badges, patches and/or certificates are sent to the booklet's owner. Since requirements for earning Junior Ranger status differ from location to location. Please refer to the Park's guidelines.

How To Use This List

The state each park is located in is listed in ( ).  Use this to help you find the monuments, parks or historical sites closest to your home.  Plan a one-day visit or multiple-park adventure.

Weave STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) with geography and history! Choose park locations within a specific U.S. region to compare one or more of these elements.  Or choose multiple sites across the United States to contrast.

Create themes by researching Revolutionary or Civil War Battlefield areas, recreation areas, historical sites, or nature-based areas.  Use specific park names, such as Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace NHS and Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural NHS, to create or add to biography research.  The sky's the limit with what you can do, and learn about, with this list!
